What REALLY matters about the Mini
There’s been a lot of discussion regarding the Mini and it’s speed and graphic capability versus the previous model. I’m sure you’ve had plenty of time to pore through the voluminous statistics and specifications from all over the web. You’ve been discussing and debating with friends and family over whether or not to get a new Mini or to rush out and try to find one of the older G4 based systems.
I’m here to make it simple for you. The one and ONLY metric that really means anything, that REALLY lets you know you’re working on one of the newer machines...
Does it do the “Dashboard Ripple”?
You know, that wiggly jiggly thing it does when you add a new widget to your dashboard. Imagine this scenario, Apple Store genius showing off OSX. Going through Spotlight, iMovie HD, and other functions with not even a raise of an eyebrow from the customer. Then, they pull up dashboard and drop a widget. That animation has made many a sale as the purchaser zips home, plugs it in, skips through registration and begins dropping widgets willy nilly. These are the things the happy moments of computing are based on and I’m glad to be able to say that, YES, the Mini does the “Dashboard Ripple”.
There! Now, go get one :)
